title : My Oral Script
My Oral Script

It goes like this :

A very good evening to Miss pek and all my fellow friends. My oral presentation is to tell you how beef cows live in America.

What is beef ? Beef is the culinary name for meat from bovines, especially domestic cattle (cows). Beef is one of the principal meats used in the cuisine of Middle east, Australia, Argentina, Europe and America, and is also important in Africa, East Asia, and Southeast Asia. Beef is considered a taboo food in some cultures, especially in Indian culture but it is also discouraged among some Buddhists.

In America, cattle does not live in barns or fields, they live in a small room that doesn’t even have extra place to move around. Like this room, it can actually fit 25 to 30 cattle. You can imagine how crowed it could be.

Did you know that grain fed beef animals are fed hormones to accelerate growth.
There can be as many as one-hundred cattle, weighing from 700-1200 pounds, living in one pen the size of a basketball court.

Sometimes, American farmers does not want to waste money to buy grain so they just feed the cattle the leftover parts that cannot be sell or parts that are rotten together with hormones. There is a risk of mad cow disease by eating too much hormones.

When one cow becomes ill in a pen, the farmers often treat all of the cattle with antibiotics. 70% of the antibiotics used in the United States are used in livestock. Resistant strain of E. coli often found in grain fed cattle's stomach, because their diet forces their stomach to produce more acids and the bacteria become resistant to the acid.

In May 2003, after a cow with BSE was discovered in Alberta, Canada, the American border was closed to live Canadian cattle, but was reopened in early 2005

Here’s a song that is related to American beef cow.

[song playing]

After listening to my oral, I hope you guys will be more careful not to eat beef that is imported from America, thank you for listening. =]

what’s mad-cow disease. Mad-cow disease is a fatal, neurodegenerative disease in cattle, that causes a spongy degeneration in the brain and spinal cord. Mad cow disease has a long incubation period, about 4 years, usually affecting adult cattle at a peak age onset of four to five years, all breeds being equally susceptible.[1] In the United Kingdom, the country worst affected, more than 179,000 cattle have been infected and 4.4 million slaughtered during the eradication program
